We want both our sellers and buyers to have a great experience using Practice Pirate. Clear, honest listings help buyers find the right opportunities and help sellers connect with qualified prospects.

Here are some general guidelines we expect our sellers to follow to ensure your listing is effective and compliant with our platform standards.

DO’s for Effective Practice Listings

DO use a real email address We don’t display your email address publicly, but we need a working email to forward buyer inquiries to you. Use an email you check regularly.

DO include a purchase price Buyers want to know if your practice fits their budget. Even a price range (e.g., “$400K-$500K”) helps buyers determine if they should inquire.

DO provide specific location details Include the city and state at minimum. You can be as specific as your physical address if you’re comfortable, but most users will just write their city and state. If you’re not comfortable providing your city, you have to at least provide your county.

DO mention key practice details Number of operatories, annual revenue, years established, patient base size, and specialty focus help buyers understand what they’re considering.

DO write a clear, honest description Describe your practice accurately. Mention strengths like modern equipment, loyal patient base, or prime location, but be truthful about the opportunity.

DO include your preferred contact method Let buyers know if you prefer phone calls, emails, or have specific times you’re available to discuss the practice.

DO update your listing if details change If your asking price changes or the practice sells, let us know so we can update or remove the listing.

DON’Ts to Avoid Problems

DON’T use images you don’t own the rights to Only upload photos you took yourself or have permission to use. Stock photos or images from other websites can create legal issues.

DON’T include patient information Never mention patient names, case details, or any protected health information in your listing.

DON’T use fake or outdated contact information Buyers need to reach you. Using a disconnected phone number or old email defeats the purpose of listing your practice.

DON’T exaggerate or mislead Honest descriptions build trust. Overstating revenue, understating problems, or misrepresenting the practice creates problems during due diligence.

DON’T include competitor names Avoid mentioning other practices by name, especially in a negative context. Focus on your practice’s strengths instead.

DON’T forget to mention if you have a broker If you’re working with a practice broker, mention this in your listing so buyers know who to contact for detailed information.

DON’T include excessive personal information Keep the focus on the practice opportunity rather than personal reasons for selling or detailed family situations.

DON’T add external links in the description of your post. To prevent spam from ruining our website’s listings and your experience, we automatically flag listings that add links as potential spam. We have a zero tolerance policy for adding links in the description. Our posts are simple – user gets an email, clicks on the practices they’re interested in, and then they can fill out the contact form. Adding links to external sites disrupts that experience.

Remember: Keep It Simple

The best listings are clear, honest, and provide enough information for qualified buyers to determine their interest. You don’t need to write a novel—just give buyers the key details they need to decide if they want to learn more.

If you have questions about what to include in your listing, contact us, and we’ll help you create an effective practice advertisement.
